Deptford Twp. Petition - VOTE FOR MAYOR
Our Mission
We would love to hear your views for a better Deptford.
Here are a few that we are currently focusing on.
Our goal at the Deptford Republican Club is to engage the residents of Deptford and include them in building a better town for all of us. We want and need to hear from everyone regardless of political affiliation. We strongly believe that building a tight-knit community that listens to each other is the only way to accomplish a better future for all of us. We want to work for Deptford. Below are a few policies we at the Deptford Republican Club believe will help us accomplish our goal.

Why?
Essential to good governance is an informed people. Essential to an informed people is a transparent government. Not only should the government be open in its actions and ledgers, but it should also make that information easily accessible and available to the constituency
Why?
Essential to good governance is a clear, efficient, transparent, and healthy budget.
Understanding our municipal budget’s financial health and the situation of our municipal budget will be instrumental in helping address NJ’s biggest issues. ( I only put in “helping” because we, and of ourselves, cannot fix the whole state.)
Taxes and cost of living. We need to know what our financial footing is so that we can take sufficient actions to mitigate the damages from the state level’s fiscal irresponsibility. In order to do so, we must review our budget and cut out wasteful spending or reallocate funds to essential services may have been neglected up to this point.
The bill for the failures of the current state administrations will fall on Deptford taxpayers’ laps and we must minimize that bill as much as possible.
Why?
Essential to good governance is a clear understanding of the rules and operation of the governing body. Understanding these ordinances will allow us to restructure them to be more cost and physically effective for Deptford residents.
Why?
Essential to good governance is the accountability of our public officials. The voting process is the best way to hold our officials accountable to the residents. The position of mayor should be accountable to the citizens of Deptford, not the town council. Under Deptford’s current position in the Faulkner Act, this is not possible. We will pursue a policy to change our standing in the Faulkner Act so we can vote for our mayor.
Why?
Essential to good governance is to freeze Senior taxes, maintaining low taxes and cost of living. Cost of living means economic and happiness. Using the resources that will be generated by the previously stated policies, we will be able to review and implement a plan to lower the tax burden on Deptford residents while maintaining the basic civil services we deserve.
Why?
Essential to good governance is a strong community and essential to building a strong community is supporting our local, small businesses. They are the backbone of our local, state, and national economies. The American dream consists of millions of Americans that have risked everything to work and provide for themselves their own bare hands. These businesses are more like families and that sense of family can be felt throughout a community with a strong local small business sector. It is necessary, especially in recent times, to offer a favorable business climate so Deptford becomes a place for family businesses to start and thrive.
